Meet Corkinho: a Rumi Friend born from one of nature’s most patient materials. Cédric Étienne founded Corkinho with a deep respect for cork,  not as a commodity, but as a living material with memory, warmth, and character.

Every piece begins in the Alentejo hills of Portugal, where cork oak trees are carefully harvested by hand, their bark stripped with precision passed down through generations. A single tree lives for centuries. Its bark regrows every nine years. There is no rushing this process and Corkinho doesn’t try to.

What Corkinho does is transform what remains,  reclaimed cork remnants,  into objects that ground a space. Cushions, tiles, trays.
Things you touch, sit on, rest beside. Each piece carries the texture of where it came from.

At Rumi, we believe a space is defined by how it makes you feel. Corkinho pieces don’t decorate,  they anchor. They bring the outside in, without forcing it.
